What is the role of the WTO in contributing to the global economic recovery?
The financial and economic crisis that started in 2008 resulted in the sharpest decline of world trade since World War II. The recession also had a major impact on the rise of unemployment and poverty levels. How can trade and the WTO help supporting the economic recovery? Bill Reinsch, President of the US National Foreign Trade Council, and James Howard, Director of the Economic and Social Policy Department at the International Trade Union Confederation, shared their views on this topic with Keith Rockwell, WTO Spokesperson.
